What do you need to create a CGI?

We normally just need site plans, elevations, and a brief description of the proposed project for a quote. But we’re always happy to give recommendations if you’re unsure about how to achieve the best visual for your needs.

How do you make a CGI visual?

In a nutshell, we start property-based visuals by using the architects drawings to create 3D digital models of the house types and landscaping. We then populate the scene with plants, cars and people (if necessary), add the lighting and ‘virtual’ camera in our 3d [...]

What formats do the files need to be in?

When we start your project, we work from the architect’s DWG CAD files, so this is the preferred format. We can also use Revit models. Sometimes, when DWG’s are not available, good quality PDF’s will do.

How long does it take?

A single plot CGI will typically take 2-3 days to produce. However, it depends heavily on the size and complexity of the building. Animated walkthroughs (either interior or exterior) might take 2-3 weeks to complete.

Who owns the work?

As with any artistic creation, it is the author who ‘owns’ the work by default. In all practical sense though, our clients are free to use the cgi’s we produce in any way they see fit, so let your imagination run wild! We can [...]
